The Math Steeplechase is an annual event organized by Benerd College with the assistance of Athletics and the Physics department. More than 800 fifth-grade students have attended the half-day event, participating in a mathematical competition, physics experiments, a campus scavenger hunt and athletic activities. The main event, the mathematical competition, is where teams of fifth-grade students have to solve complex math problems in a matter of minutes.
The 15th annual Math Steeplechase is on April 14, 2023, and is open to 5th-grade students from the northern Central Valley area. The deadline for registration in February 1, 2023.
