Our PsyD program is designed for those who wish to pursue a career as a mental health practitioner and offers coursework that provides a deep theoretical knowledge base in psychology, clinical skills to become a mental health practitioner, and research skills to stay current with contemporary advances in psychology. Faculty members in our program prepare students for careers that serve a culturally diverse society by providing an educational and practical foundation in counseling, assessment, development, ethical practice, psychopharmacology, addiction, and research, among other advanced topics.
Students in the program progress through their course sequence in a cohort and support each other in the classroom and in practice as they become self-reflective practitioners, researchers, and leaders. Instruction is offered in a hybrid format such that instruction for clinical coursework is provided in-person while theoretical, lecture-based coursework is provided online, both synchronously and asynchronously. In-person coursework is consolidated to one day per week to provide a student-friendly schedule.
