They offer a pathway that will provide you with skills and credentials that can lead to higher pay, job security and help you advance toward your long-term goals. Whether or not you apply your stackable certificate to a degree in the future, our programs prepare you to reach your career goals.

One step closer to a master’s degree

If you decide to continue your education, all 12 units in the stackable certificate transfer into the corresponding master’s degree program in Benerd College. Students in the credential program have the option to move directly into the master’s degree program after they have completed the certificate units or can return at a later date to finish their degree.*

Leadership in Health Education Certificate

This four-course (12-unit) for-credit certificate is designed for those interested in leadership positions within the field of teaching in the health professions.

The certificate can be taken as a standalone accelerated pathway for those interested in developing effective health-related educational programs or the courses can be stacked into Benerd’s Master of Arts in Education, Innovation Education in Health Professions. Classes start each fall starting in fall 2021.

Leadership for Social Impact Certificate

The Leadership for Social Impact certificate is a four-course, 12-unit for-credit certificate designed those interested in learning how to lead organizations for social impact. This certificate focuses on advancing our understanding of the social barriers that reinforce social inequalities, while developing strategies for dismantling structures that support existing systems of privilege.

Students have the option of stacking all 12 units into Benerd’s Master of Arts in Leadership, Leading for Social Impact program.

Learning, Innovation and Design Certificate

The Learning, Innovation and Design certificate is a four-course, 12-unit for-credit certificate designed for professionals interested in learning how to be a more creative educator and trainer. The certificate can be taken as a standalone accelerated pathway for those who want to enhance their knowledge of the principles of learning and their ability to create dynamic and personalized learning.

For students who wish to continue their academic journey, all 12 units can be stacked into Benerd’s Master of Arts in Education, Learning, Innovation and Design. Classes start each fall beginning in 2021.

Teaching, Innovation and Design Certificate

The Teaching, Innovation and Design certificate is a four-course, 12-unit for-credit certificate designed to teach professionals how to apply design thinking to create innovative approaches to teaching. Students will evaluate existing innovations, create lessons that apply appropriate learning principles and create systems for multiple modality learning.

The certificate can be taken as a standalone program or for those who wish to continue their education, all 12 units can be stacked into Benerd’s Master of Arts in Education, Health Professions Education or Master of Arts in Education, Learning, Innovation and Design. Classes start each summer beginning in 2021.

Teacher Leadership Certificate

The Teacher Leadership certificate is a 12-unit, one-year program that provides in-depth, quality professional development for school administrators. Foundational courses in supervision of instruction, leadership and research provide the basis of the certificate, while elective courses allow students the flexibility to tailor the certificate to strengthen their desired skills.

All courses are taught online with access to the community and faculty mentorship that is at the heart of a University of the Pacific education. Classes start each fall beginning in 2021.
